Ready for a pass...

Hello all -

We just finished our mission here in Camp Atterbury. Our unit is now 100% validated and ready to head to Kuwait to start the count down... But not before we have a few weekends off. I'm leaving for the not-so-sun-shiney-state-of-florida tomorrow. I'm not too worried about the weather, just ready to leave the confines of this place.

Now that we are validated, we get to wear our new Army Combat Uniform (ACU). For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about, this is the new combat uniform. No more green or tan camoflauge, it's all digital now. They feel like pajamas and the new placements of the pockets are weird, they also have lots of velco for patches, rank and the pockets. I've attached a picture for you to see them.

Got to have my first and 12th beer on Sunday. The 12th one was probably a mistake! We were supposed to get up at 5:30am to run on monday, but luckily mother nature, the porcelin god, and some other powers that be called for some rain and it was cancelled. Lucky for me!

All we have to do now is some technical classroom training. Some engineers are coming in next week to train on bridge classifications, surveying and other tasks that we'll be doing.

Other than that, not much is new. We did take our physical fitness test. I scored a 288 out of 300, enough to earn a patch to wear. For those of you that are work-out buffs, you can check out the scoring and requirements to see what you can get. (I had 80 pushups & 78 situps in 2 minutes, and ran a 14:11 on the 2mile run). Let me know what you score!

I miss you all! Can't wait to see you!
Take care! Jason
